It has been a big year of change for Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador. Not only has she gone through a divorce and lost thirty pounds, but she also started a successful business — Real For Real Cuisine — and it has made her big bucks real fast.
But, the slimmed-down mother of three is ready to cash in even more on her post-divorce life and turn her healthy QVC food line into a weight loss empire. She was in New York this week with businessman Scot Matteson, so that she could introduce lobster cakes to her line. But, Beador says this is just the beginning.
She told Bravo’s website The Feast that she plans on opening a chain of restaurants.
“I have the menu ready to go for Real for Real, so I’m hopeful that things will continue to go well with QVC and then hopefully incorporate the restaurant concept,” said Beador.
An insider told Radar Online that Beador is already in talks with major financiers about plans to expand, and the restaurants are definitely a big part of that.
Beador had gained 40 pounds at the end of her marriage to David Beador, but over the past year she has shed the weight and wants to capitalize on her newly slimmed-down figure. In addition to the food line and restaurant plans, she is also developing her own line of fitness apparel and gear, as well as wellness shakes.
Sources say that Beador is a completely different person compared to who she was at this time last year, and she looks happier than ever.
The reality star says that is “crazy” what you can accomplish in a year, and she has “gotten stronger, deep down.” Beador also revealed that after she split from David, she stayed at home and didn’t do much of anything except spend time on self-reflection and try to figure out what changes she needed to make in her life. She also asked herself what kind of person she wanted to be.
The 54-year-old admits that at the end of her marriage, she wasn’t a “rose” to come home to, and she was reactive. She says she needed to learn to take a step back and take criticism that she perceived to be negative.
Shannon Beador also shared that her soon-to-be ex-husband has moved in with his new girlfriend, Lesley Cook, but she has no control over his life anymore, and he can do whatever he wants. However, for her, it isn’t important to jump into another relationship.
She says that she wants to stand on her own for a while and check out her options.
