As the drama continues to unfold surrounding former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King Edmonds and her divorce from estranged husband – former St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds – details have emerged from Meghan’s first failed marriage. While Meghan was quick to bring up Jim’s two previous marriages during their time on RHOC, she never talked about the end of her first marriage to attorney Brad McDill.
“She has no problem talking on camera or to anyone for that matter about her current husband Jim’s failed marriages, but she shies away from talking about her own,” an insider told Radar Online.
After she graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2007, the St. Louis native married attorney Brad McDill that July. According to court documents, the couple split in October 2011 citing irreconcilable differences, and their divorce was finalized on November 30, 2011.
Meghan dropped the McDill last name and went back to her maiden name, Meghan O’Toole King, and she also kept all of her personal possessions, the money in their joint checking account, and a 2004 Nissan Murano.
In the divorce, McDill kept the money that was in his own bank accounts, his 2011 bonus from work, and a 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The former couple also sold their home valued at $225,000 and split the money that was left over after the mortgage was paid off.
Jim was married twice before he tied the knot with Meghan in 2014. Jim was married to Lee Ann Horton and the couple had two daughters together before they divorced. She passed away in 2015. Edmonds’ second wife is Allison Raski, and they were married from 2008 to 2014 and had a son and a daughter.
Jim and Meghan had three children together during their five-year marriage – a two-year-old daughter named Aspen and one-year-old twin boys Hart and Hayes.
Jim Edmonds filed for divorce from Meghan one day after the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. She reportedly accused him of cheating with their nanny, 22-year-old Carly Wilson. Jim recently took to Instagram to deny the cheating claims, and Wilson has also stated the cheating rumors are false.
