Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams’ baby daddy, Dennis McKinley, is the owner of Queen Virgin Remy, a weave and extensions business that has faced a couple of different legal battles over the years. And, according to a new report, the Better Business Bureau has also hit the company with a D-rating.
According to Radar Online, the BBB gave the low rating to Queen Virgin Remy because the business failed to respond to two separate complaints filed against the company.
“I paid $250 for four bundles of Cambodian loose wave hair,” one customer wrote in August 2017. “I received one bundle of Cambodian loose wave and three bundles of Brazilian loose wave. I immediately called customer service and was told to take pictures, submit them via email, and the store manager would call me back. I called the store three times that day, and during my last call I was told that I would not receive a callback, all sales are final, no exchanges or refunds. There’s no refund policy listed on the website.”
Another customer had filed a complaint in May 2016, claiming that she had ordered a Peruvian deep wave online. And, after washing, conditioning, adding water and oil regularly, and combing it about four to five times a day, the product was “so tangled and matted” that she was “beyond frustrated.”
The unhappy customer went on to say that she felt she had paid too much money for it to be tangled, and the company responded by accusing her of not using alcohol-free products and adding too much oil, so they recommended that she shampoo and condition the hair.
After doing what the company recommended, the customer said that the results were the same, and paying $222 for something that she could only wear for one month was not satisfactory. The company ultimately responded to the complaint by saying that they provide hair care tips, including a recommendation to avoid products with alcohol and using a light serum.
There was also a third complaint about shipping filed in March of 2016. The frustrated customer wrote that her order got lost in the shipping process and the company wouldn’t help her because they didn’t have to do that. The manager of the company also allegedly told the customer that they had shipping problems before, but they take no responsibility.
A customer also accused the company of selling faulty merchandise. Kimberly Garlick filed a civil suit against Queen Virgin Remy in 2014, but McKinley denied the allegations.
Porsha Williams announced her pregnancy with Dennis McKinley back in September after a few months of dating. He proposed to the reality star in October, and the couple is expecting a baby girl.
