According to a report from People.com, the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Flea, just got married to the fashion designer, Melody Ehsani. The 57-year-old bassist and Ehsani tied the knot this weekend and revealed the news today, on Tuesday the 22th of October.
Flea, née Michael Balzary, revealed the news on his Instagram with a photo from the ceremony, one of which featured him wearing his wedding suit alongside his wife. “My life has changed forever, and I am eternally humbled and grateful.”
Ehsani, 39, also celebrated the wedding with a post of her hubby on IG, which gave fans of the band another look at their wedding ceremony as well as their outfits. The star took to her account to say that this past weekend, she got the chance to marry her best friend.
According to a report from E! News, it’s hard to say when they first started dating because they’ve rarely shown it off on social media as well as at events. However, the outlet claims they had been only engaged for one month.
Reportedly, this marks Flea’s second marriage, following his relationship with Loesha Zeviar. The bass player has a 31-year-old daughter with Zeviar named Clara Balzary. Previously, Flea was engaged to Frankie Ryder as well, however, they never tied the knot.
Frankie and Flea have a 13-year-old daughter together named Sunny Bebop Balzary. As it was noted above, Flea is mostly known for his bass playing chops in the band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, for which he has been given critical praise alongside the other members of the group.
Including Flea, the band had four members for most of their career, Anthony Kiedis, John Frusciante, and Chad Smith, until John’s departure in 2009. John was later replaced by Josh Klinghoffer. The band has released 11 albums in total since they first began in the early 1980s, including their most recent works, 2011’s I’m With You, and The Getaway, which came out in 2016.
