Elissa Ennis, who accused the San Francisco 49ers player, Reuben Foster, of domestic abuse, came out recently and admitted she lied about the assault for personal and monetary gain. In a report from Mercury News, the woman claims she fabricated the story that her ex-boyfriend physically abused her for the sake of ruining his career and extorting him for money.
During a preliminary hearing at a San Francisco courthouse on Thursday, the accuser was seeing if the case would move forward. Despite her attorney’s best advice to plead the fifth amendment, Ennis told the court that she lied.
The woman said it was all a ruse to sue him for money and destroy his career because she wanted to “ruin him.”
As you may know, Ennis formerly stated that Foster hit her over eight times before dragging her out of the house and throwing the family dog along with her.
Ex-girlfriend of Reuben Foster, Elissa Ennis, testified today in a preliminary hearing saying that Foster never put his hands on her and that she “lied a lot” to authorities about an alleged domestic violence incident. Ennis added that she wanted to ruin Foster’s career and sue him for money after he broke up with her on February 11th. She went to the hospital to get treatment for the injuries, which were allegedly due to domestic abuse, including bruises, cuts, and a ruptured eardrum.
Reportedly, the woman said that the true nature of her injuries was because of a traffic accident along with another girl. Video of the fight was uploaded a few weeks later. The Associated Press reports that Ennis wanted to get revenge for his claim that she cheated on him.
During her testimony, she said, “I was pissed and I wanted to end him.” Ennis went on to say, in her own words, “It was all a money scheme,” and admits she didn’t intend for it to become big news.
However, despite her claims to the contrary, the judge thinks there might still be a case, and Ennis is merely backtracking for some unexplained reason, perhaps, a change of heart. Others speculate she is fearful for her life.
