Snoop Dogg is moving into the wine business, a new report from Billboard revealed. This Wednesday, on the 15th of April, 19 Crimes revealed their partnership with the rapper regarding the release of his first bottle of wine. The product goes by the name Snoop Cali Red, and it comes out this summer.
Snoop Dogg said in a press release that he’s a “fan of this wine,” and he’s thrilled to announce that the product will hit store shelves later this year. Additionally, the iconic rapper claimed 19 Crimes was one of the most successful brands on the market right now, and he’s happy to work with them.
John Wardley, the TWE marketing vice president, claimed Snoop Dogg was the “perfect partner” in the creation of the new bottle of wine. He added that the rapper embodied the “spirit” and the culture of the company, notably, his attitude, irreverence, and perseverance.
Fans of the rapper know he has been very busy over the last few months, even though much of the world is currently on lockdown as it fights to conquer COVID-19. This past month, the star has participated in challenges at home including the Kush-Up Challenge.
With that said, some of his social media remarks haven’t gone down well. On the 2nd of April, 2020, Alexis Stone picked up on comments from the rapper in which he allegedly suggested black women stop wearing wigs and instead, wear their natural hair.
Following Snoop’s anti-wig comments, many social media users were quick to point at the way in which black men supposedly take every chance to tear down black women regarding their decisions and lifestyle choices.
As one user put it, for years, Snoop Dogg has been able to change his hairstyles as much as he wants. The user called it “versatility,” and it’s not a bad thing. An additional social media commenter stated that men should stop telling women how to wear their hair.
Regardless of social media squabbles, Snoop Dogg has been busy with his career, including last year when he and Matthew McConaughey worked together on the film, The Beach Bum.
