Rachel McAdams Totally Happy She 'Waited A Long Time' To Start A Family - Here's Why!
Rachel McAdams is now a mother after she gave birth to her son back in April! The actress, who is now 40, told Sunday Times during a new interview that it’s the greatest thing to ever happen to her!
That being said, Rachel spent nearly half her life dedicating her time to acting which means she kept postponing starting a family.
However, that doesn’t mean she regrets her decision!
Now, it’s another story, and she couldn’t be happier to focus on being a mom.
She explained to the outlet that ‘[People say] that your life isn't your own anymore [when having a baby]. I had 39 years of me and I was sick of me, I was so happy to finally put the focus on some other person. I waited a very long time.'
The actress made it very clear that she decided to wait until the right time, or rather, until the right man appeared in her life.
While their characters’ love story in The Notebook got fans to swoon over the pair, it was not Ryan Gosling who became the one for Rachel.
Instead, she and screenwriter Jamie Linden realized they were perfect for each other!
The new mom tries her very best to keep their ‘gypsy life’ in L.A. as private as possible for the sake of her and Jamie’s son.
In fact, she went as far as to even keep his name a secret from the public, noting that ‘I want to keep his life private, even if mine is not.’
But that doesn’t mean she didn’t share anything about her domestic life.
Rachel stated that her sister, who is a makeup artist, is the one to do her glam looks.
Furthermore, the actress also admitted that she is obsessed with social media but keeps the TV mostly off to minimize her baby’s exposure to screens.
‘I am having more fun being a mom than I have ever had. Everything about it is so interesting and exciting and inspiring to me. Even the very tough days — there is something delightful about them,’ Rachel McAdams stated.
