R. Kelly is finally opening up about those sexual abuse accusations against him and not anyhow! The controversial star has released a new song in which he addresses the allegations.
He took to SoundCloud today to share his brand new track appropriately titled ‘I Admit.’
The singer also linked his followers to it by tweeting: ‘Today is the day you’ve been waiting for.’
Today is the day you’ve been waiting for. ? I ADMIT ?
— R. Kelly (@rkelly) July 23, 2018
The lyrics are constructed as a confession about all of the wrongs he’s done in life, but at the same time, he suggests he does not deserve to go to prison.
‘I admit I done made some mistakes/And I have some imperfect ways. / I admit I f**k with all the ladies, that is both older and young ladies/But tell me how they call it a pedophile because that s**t is crazy / You may have your opinions, entitled to your opinions. / But am I supposed to go to prison or lose my career because of your opinion?’
As you may remember last year, R.Kelly was involved in a huge scandal for apparently, holding a number of women hostage in what was dubbed as a ‘cult.’
Not too long after the news came out, however, one of the alleged captive girls stated that was not the case.
The new song goes on to talk about these accusations saying: ‘I admit that I am not perfect, I never said I was perfect/Said I’m abusing these women, what the f–k that’s some absurd s**t. / They’re brainwashed, really?/Kidnapped, really?/Can’t eat, really?/Real talk, that s**t sound silly./What is the definition of a cult? / What is the definition of a sex slave? Go to the dictionary, look it up/Let me know I’ll be here waiting.’
The track’s main goal is to make it very clear that he is not a ‘monster’ as so many people believe. What do you think?
