Quavo Says He’s As “Surprised” As Anybody To Get A Shoutout From Nicki Minaj On “Barbie Dreams”

Quavo from Migos fame decided to stop in New York City for a chat with Nessa from Hot 97 on the 27th of August, where he dished on a few things, notably, the recent shoutout from fellow MC, Nicki Minaj, off her latest record, Queen.
Nicki just dropped her latest record which went to number 2 on the charts, however, that didn’t please her, because she felt Spotify, as well as Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner, managed to keep Astroworld at the number one spot due to shady marketing tactics.
As it was previously reported, Spotify even had to release a statement, indicating that they’re “fans” of Nicki and promoted her latest effort as much as they did for everyone else.
The rapper named Quavo on her track, “Barbie Dreams,” and he thought it was surprising, to say the least. The rapper said that he had heard Nicki’s album shortly before it came out, and he “laughed.” The rapper thought it was “funny.”
Migos said, “She dope, the album was fire.” The rapper admitted he was as surprised as the rest of us to hear his name dropped.
In other news, Quavo and the rest of his crew have been playing in a basketball tournament against Drake and OVO affiliates. According to reports, it’s been so heated between them that they needed to call in a legitimate referee to make sure there’s no funny business.
Check out the interview below:
Regarding their game, he said he doesn’t want to get into detail because it’s been “controversial.” The rapper said they had to get a referee because it’s “dead serious.”
The Migos performer also dished on directing his latest video for “Working Me,” along with the up and coming female rapper, Saweetie. Migos said that she’s “pretty” and “did an awesome job,” so she didn’t just get the chance to collaborate with him on account of her looks.
