It is safe to say that a lot of people still dress up as Michael Jackson on Halloween because of his legacy and iconic style which is easy to recognize. However, it also makes a lot of sense that his family might be uncomfortable with the costumes.
That being said, his son Prince Jackson admitted that it can be ‘a little shocking!’
Prince was in attendance at the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation’s Costume for a Cause event and there, he talked to ET about all things Halloween!
‘It’s definitely amazing because they want to continue on his tradition, his legacy, but sometimes they do it so well, it’s a little shocking. Like, whoa! [I’m] taken aback a little,’ the 21-year-old revealed about fans dressing up as Michael Jackson.
He went on to explain that ‘You mostly just have to smile, because it’s coming from a place of love and admiration, so all I can do is have respect for that and really feel honored.’
When it comes to his own choice of costume for the Halloween bash, Price dressed up as Friday the 13th’s Jason but it doesn’t seem like he’s a big fan of the character as he was a bit unsure.
‘I’m dressed up as – I’m pretty sure – Jason from Friday the 13th. I don’t want to get it wrong. People, you know, they’ll have you for it, if you mess up … especially my brother [Blanket]. That would be embarrassing,’ Prince told the outlet.
But it makes sense that he was confused about the costume!
He didn’t even get to coordinate with his ‘pirate’ girlfriend because, as Prince explained, he always dresses up as ‘whatever my brother tells me to be.’
Speaking of costumes, he also discussed some of his dad Michael’s most iconic ones.
’Thriller’s obviously a classic because that just scared me so much as a kid. And it worked so well, because with the video attached to it, you’re like, ‘Is he gonna transform?’ You don’t know what’s gonna happen!’
