It’s no secret that Prince Harry has made some major life changes because of his relationship with Meghan Markle. Not only has the beloved royal walked away from the only life he has ever known as a senior member of the royal family and moved to America, but a new report now claims that he has given up one of his favorite hobbies out of respect for his wife.
According to The Sun, Prince Harry has sold his two prized handmade rifles – worth more than $60,000 – from British gunmaker Purdey, and it is believed that he has given up hunting because Markle opposes the practice.

Prince Harry learned to hunt when he was a child, and he often took part in hunts and shooting events before meeting Markle. However, he has not been involved in any shooting activities lately with his friends and colleagues. He was absent from recent shoots at both Balmoral and Sandringham, and this has led many to believe he has quit hunting altogether.
The 35-year-old reportedly sold his prized rifles to another hunter in a private deal five months ago, according to a friend of the anonymous buyer.
“He bought them because he wanted them, not because they belonged to Harry,” the friend said. “But he was quite chuffed when he found out. They are beautiful examples and he’s very pleased with them but he’s not the sort of person who wants to boast about the royal connection.”

Harry’s good friend Dr. Jane Goodall recently shared that she believes Harry will stop hunting completely because Meghan doesn’t like it. The last known time that the royal went on a hunting trip was in 2017 when he was engaged to Markle. At the time, Harry took part in a wild boar hunt in Germany with his friends.
Prince Harry is patron of Rhino Conservation Botswana and president of African Parks, a South African group. In 2004, Harry killed a water buffalo in Argentina, and he and William hunted wild boar in Spain in 2014.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were living on Vancouver Island in Canada after Megxit, it doesn’t appear that Harry went hunting, even though people on the island do regularly hunt black bears, elk, and cougars.
