Goodbye Sussex Royal, Hello Archewell. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that their new non-profit organization (which they have not launched yet) will be called Archewell, and there is a significant meaning behind the name.
According to People magazine, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex issued a statement to explain how they landed on the name Archewell, which was inspired by their son Archie Harrison.
“A royal insider claimed Meghan is terrified because of the financial pressure they are now under and suggested the Duchess has ordered Prince Harry to find a job.” https://t.co/mkTzyOKq9G

“Before SussexRoyal came the idea of ‘arche’ — the Greek word meaning ‘source of action,’” explained Harry and Meghan. “We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters.”
The couple says that Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action with another word that “evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon.” They added that they “look forward” to launching the new non-profit “when the time is right.”
Right now, the focus for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is to support the efforts to tackle the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, because they knew the information about their new brand would come to light, they decided to share the story of how they chose the name.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their plans to step down as senior royals on January 8th, and they officially became private citizens on March 31st. The couple and their son have since moved from Vancouver Island in Canada to Los Angeles, and their new endeavors are still a work in progress.
Forcing your staff to move you from Canada to LA in the middle of a pandemic? Cringe.
Trying to push out your PR so people don't forget little old you during a pandemic? Cringe.
Using your famous baby's name as a charity name? Unlawful levels of cringe.https://t.co/8otiMptQsC

The couple hopes to create a new kind of non-profit that funds various types of charitable services. They have filed the trademarks for Archewell and are no longer using their SussexRoyal instagram account and website.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also said in their statement that as everyone finds their part to play in this global shift and changing of habits, they are focusing on their new chapter to understand how they can best contribute. Even though fans may not see them, they insisted that their work continues.
An insider says that it is “exciting” for the former royals to mark the end of the transition post-Megxit and officially start a new chapter. They added that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “positive about the future” in America.
