The NYPD arrested two men in connection with the murder of the late rapper, Chinx. According to reports, in Long Island, New York, police charged the men with five criminal counts for the death of Chinx back in 2015.
People Magazine confirmed that Jamar Hill, 26-years-old, and Quincy Homere, 32, are facing charges of attempted murder, counts of murder, assault, as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
The Queens District Attorney, Richard A Brown, in NYC, confirmed the charges. Additionally, both of the men were already in prison on unrelated charges.
The 31-year-old, Chinx, was shot and killed outside of a nightclub on the 17th of May after he performed at a nightclub. The incident in question took place just one hour after his concert.
One other person was in the car at the timing of the shooting and suffered gunshot wounds, but they, fortunately, survived.
The District Attorney said it was another example of the “mindless gun violence” which plagues the United States of America.
The DA continued by stating it was a “senseless shooting” and these men killed someone with a promising career in music. Chinx – Lionel Pickens – was married to Janelli Pickens and she said to a local TV station after his death that it was a challenging experience for everyone involved.
Additionally, Pickens revealed her young children don’t understand what had happened, but, unfortunately, they will soon.
Malika Haaq, who was linked to the rapper in the past, learned the news of his death during an episode of the E! reality series, Dash Dolls. Haqq’s sister, Khadijah, and her best friend, Khloe Kardashian, consoled her after the news of his passing.
