On Thursday night, a man who police think is the ex-boyfriend of Adea Shabani, shot himself to death after a standoff with the authorities. As a result, the police have double-downed on their efforts to find the missing actress/model who disappeared from Los Angeles last month.
Reportedly, the man the police chased down from Hesperia to Corona killed himself with a handgun while the person riding in the passenger seat fled the scene.
The man, Christopher Spotz, 33, is from North Hollywood and the Riverside coroner’s office confirmed his identity.
Dan Olivas, an officer, speaking on behalf of the California Highway Patrol, said that the man was driving a Toyota Tacoma and police chased it down because they believed he was involved in a homicide.
" Like a heartbeat. Something inside me. Some dream. I think it's being a dreamer as a child. Dreamy kids become actors dont't they? " ✨??
An additional news outlet, NBC-4, LA, said law enforcement officials claim Spotz used to date Shabani. An anonymous caller phoned the police last month and said they had seen the man put Shabani in the back of his truck.
The police are still looking for Adea and consider it to be a “missing person” case rather than a murder. After Shabani stopped responding to her text messages, her friends and family became worried.
Shabani is originally from Macedonia and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She’s only lived in the United States for two years, but after the young woman disappeared, her mother flew all the way from the Eastern European nation to put up fliers in hopes of finding her daughter.
Her family even took it upon themselves to hire the services of a private investigator. The police described Shabani as weighing around 130 pounds, 5’5″, with blue eyes and blonde hair.
