During the height of the border crisis, when children were being separated from their parents, Peter Fonda tweeted a remark that incensed people across the political board alike. Now it appears those remarks led to a dismal opening for his latest movie Boundaries.
Here is the text of Peter Fonda’s tweet.
WE SHOULD RIP BARRON TRUMP FROM HIS MOTHER’S ARMS AND PUT HIM IN A CAGE WITH PEDOPHILES AND SEE IF MOTHER WILL STAND UP AGAINST THE GIANT A**HOLE SHE IS MARRIED TO. 90 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE STREETS ON THE SAME WEEKEND IN THE COUNTRY. F***.”
The tweet has since been deleted but shocked the nation as the 78-year-old Oscar-nominated actor called for Barron Trump to be ripped away from his mother and put in a cage with pedophiles. An Open Secret, the movie that exposes Hollywood pedophilia immediately, called for a boycott Fonda’s new movie Boundaries.
Apparently, the boycott worked, because the movie simply bombed. Currently, Boundaries has a 3.1 IMDB rating, a score of 55 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 48 percent on Metacritic.
After calling for a boycott, An Open Secret shared a tweet regarding the boycott’s impact. Not only did An Open Secret call for the boycott, but they reminded the public that Peter Fonda starred in the movie Wanda Nevada. In the movie, Beaudray Demerille (played by Fonda) won 13-year-old orphan Wanda Nevada while playing Poker. Wanda Nevada was portrayed by Brooke Shields who had already been sexually exploited in Hollywood.
The Sony Classics film stars Peter Fonda, Vera Farmiga, Christopher Plummer, Bobby Cannavale, and Christopher Lloyd. Though the movie has an all-star cast, there was little hope in saving the film. Fonda’s comments did irreversible damage.
Boundaries opened to a measly $29,552-weekend gross.

In addition to the boycott, supporters of President Trump and the First Lady asked why Roseanne Barr lost her show on ABC over a tweet, but Peter Fonda’s tweet attacking the First Lady and Barron didn’t result in the cancellation of his upcoming role in Amazon’s new series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
Peter Fonda is set up to play the role of Mr. Meuller. Fans of the ABC series Roseanne have left comments across social media that networks are operating according to political party lines, as opposed to treating all celebrities the same, whether it is on television or movies.
What do you think of Peter Fonda’s comments and Boundaries opening sales?
