BDE which stands for ‘Big D*** Energy’ was undoubtedly one of the most memorable colloquialisms of 2018. The phrase originated from a comment Ariana Grande made concerning Pete Davidson’s manhood.
When a Twitter follower asked how long the song Pete Davidson was on Sweetener, Ariana playfully responded that it was ’10 inches.’ The social media moment went viral and was the birth of BDE as a term used to describe Ariana’s new attitude.
Even after the couple called off the engagement and seemed to have a bit of a beef, Ariana confirmed that she meant what she said about Pete’s size when she released the Thank u. next video.
During the scene when Grande writes in her Burn Book, she puts ‘huuuuge’ next to Davidson’s name.
Recently, Pete performed a comedy set where he basically blames his ex-girlfriend for giving whoever he hooks up with in the future high expectations.
“I don’t like that she talked all that s*** for my penis. Everything is huge to her. Why would she tell everyone that I have a huge penis? So that every girl who sees my dick for the rest of my life is disappointed.”
He then went on to talk about the breakup anthem in general.
“Here’s the thing about the breakup song. Usually breakup songs you know who it’s about but you don’t really know. That G named all of us. Bam. She named all of us. And then, tells us, yeah, he has a big dick.”
Pete also described a hookup post-Ariana where he asked his friend her opinion on is goods.
She reportedly responded: “Well, it’s nice, but it’s like an average black man’s. It’s nice, but like the size of an average black dick.”
He finished off the joke by saying: “So I thought, ‘Okay, that is white privilege.'”
