Pete Davidson Takes The High Road After Ariana Grande Split As She Releases Breakup Anthem 'Thank U, Next'
And the truth shall set Pete Davidson free. Pete had nothing but love for Ariana Grande during his first appearance on Saturday Night Live since their break up.
Famous for mocking himself and being very honest with his pains and personal battles, Pete opened up about his split from the diva.
The 24-year-old comedian appeared on Weekend Update where he shared a light-hearted joke by saying that he is now living with his mother. Pete went on to talk about the midterm elections.
He stated: “So the midterm elections are obviously a huge deal and after I had to move back in with my mom, I started paying attention to them, and I realized there are some really gross people running for office this year, so here are my first impressions.”
Pete went on to say this about the split: “And the last thing I’ll say, I know some of you are curious about the breakup, but the truth is, it’s nobody’s business. Sometimes things just don’t work out, and that’s okay. She’s a wonderful, strong person and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world. Now, please go vote on Tuesday.”
Pete concluded by: “I’m still a great song though!”
Minutes before SNL aired, Ariana dropped her new song called “Thank U, Next” where she talked about all her exes including Pete.
One fan said: "Yes sis, write about it. Cry about it. Build a bridge and get over it."
Another commenter explained: "The problem with women sometimes we are quick to say they are the problem, not realizing it could be you. Take time to heal, reflect and figure out where u went wrong, what could be different what you’ll change the next time around or perhaps what you’d love to see happen. Shes like an oil change every 5000 miles. [email protected] me I got time, and my internet is high speed."
A third person shared: "I hope all her exes know this was legit for Mac and how she appreciated him. But the “next” part was for Pete? he needs to push."
Pete is trying to be gracious in the middle of a complicated situation.
