Pete Davidson, star of Saturday Night Live and fiancé of Ariana Grande, appeared on The Howard Stern Show recently and really let Mr. Chevy Chase have it – the legend who criticized the current cast and the show’s writers.
Chase, who was one of the original cast members, slammed the sketch comedy show during an appearance on Norm Macdonald’s Netflix series, Norm Macdonald Has A Show, as well as in an interview with the Washington Post.
In plain terms, Davidson said, “he’s a f*cking douch*bag. F*ck Chevy Chase,” the comedian remarked. Pete said that Chevy was a “genuinely bad, racist person,” and he doesn’t like him at all.
Moreover, Pete claimed Chevy hasn’t done anything since 1983. According to Davidson, Chevy had a huge career when he was a young man, but then he fell off because everybody figured him out for the person he truly is.
Moreover, Davidson stated Chevy should know better than anybody, that one can’t forget where they come from, suggesting that Lorne Michaels was the one to essentially give Chevy a career.
During Chevy’s conversation with The Post, he said that Lorne Michaels had “gone so low,” and the entire show is making “s**t-heads laugh,” at some of the worst humor he’s ever heard.
Additionally, Chase claimed the current cast can’t even say the opening line properly: “Live from New York. It’s Saturday night.” To his credit, however, Chase said that it wasn’t very nice of him to say such things.
As you may know, Davidson took offense at Chevy’s comments, considering he’s been a full-time cast member for four years. Drama aside, the new season starts on the 29th of September and features Adam Driver as well as the Ye creator, Kanye West.
