Pentatonix announced a new holiday musical special with several high-profile guests including Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys, Maren Morris, and Penn & Teller. The Grammy-award winning band is no stranger to holiday specials. They’ve already appeared in several and have become a Christmas staple with NBC. The special is called Pentatonix: A Not So Silent Night.
This marks the third Christmas special Pentatonix will host in addition to the others they’ve appeared in throughout the years.
The Christmas special coincides with Pentatonix’ new holiday album: “Christmas is Here!” which is the group’s fourth studio Christmas album. The group had a viral hit when they released their cover of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah and the group has gone on to have multiple Christmas hits each year.
NBC released some information about the special.
“On their third holiday special with the network, Pentatonix embarks on an unforgettable journey throughout Las Vegas, making stops along the legendary Strip including the iconic Caesars Palace and the stunning Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas. Joining Pentatonix are some of the top names in entertainment, including “Voice” coach and one of the biggest-selling artists of all time, Kelly Clarkson; multi-platinum selling resident headliners from Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino the Backstreet Boys; Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Maren Morris; master illusionists Penn & Teller performing nightly at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino; and more.”
Pentatonix: A Not So Silent Night airs on December 10, 2018, beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

The musical lineup will be a mix of some of Christmas’ time-honored classics as well as new, modern songs. In addition to the upcoming special, Pentatonix was recently featured in NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
Fans don’t have to wait until Dec. 10 to see Pentatonix. The band is currently on tour promoting their new album with dates lined up between December 1 and December 22. Those who are interested may find more details at Pentatonix’ official website.
Pentatonix released the song “Sweater Weather” from the album “Christmas is Here!” and it quickly went viral. In one month, “Sweater Weather” has garnered more than three million views.
