Ever since Pauley Perrette left NCIS, she has been revealing a darker side of her life, somewhat matching her character’s personality from the iconic show.
After Perrette claimed that she had suffered abuse on the show’s set — and had witnessed the same towards others and dragged Mark Harmon in the scandal — she has been talking about her situation quite a lot, and has shared various details that have shocked some of her fans even further.
Recently, Perrette admitted that she had to go through therapy to deal with some of the PTSD-related issues in her life, most notably her nightmares.
The actress explained that she was undergoing therapy that focused on allowing her to control her dreams, which was working out quite well for her, and was exactly what she needed to maintain a grip of her situation.
Perrette even joked around with some of her fans after explaining what some of her typical nightmares looked like and wanted to make it clear that she was dealing with them the right way.
She tweeted: “Dreamt I had a pet Moose named Zeus who always wears white headphones and likes to go to the mall but is scared of the escalators :)”
She added: “OK… read some replies to my Zeus the Moose dream tweet and again… I don’t do ANY drugs, and I don’t eat dairy, or red meat (rarely), or spicy foods, or sugar or salt. I’m pretty square, I just have VERY interesting dreams. So I share. They’re SO FUN!”
Perrette also pointed out: “Jeez, some people! I have PTSD and did amazing EMDR therapy, so I control my dreams and they aren’t scary nightmares. You few? You think it’s psychotic to have AWESOME dreams about beautiful animals? I WISH you had my dreams! They’re GREAT!!!”
Many sounded supportive of her as well, although some of Perrette’s fans also seemed a bit worried about her current situation.
Some joked that Perrette should look into fixing her diet if she had dreams like those, but the actress seems well aware of her situation and is already on top of things judging by what she has revealed so far.
Fans hope she will keep moving in the right direction in the future as well, as she has been the subject of much attention lately.
