Michael Weatherly recently hinted that Pauley Perrette would return to TV and but he did not say it would be on NCIS after the bizarre drama with Mark Harmon.
Weatherly, who hit stardom by playing the goofy and loveable Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS from 2003 to 2016 when he left, has teamed up with his former co-star, Cote de Pablo, for a new show called MIA that is set to air on CBS.
And fans are excited about the possibility of Perrette joining the forthcoming series that will be executive-produced by de Pablo and Weatherly.
According to TV Line, the show will focus on a female rookie homicide detective who is assigned to a strict partner in Miami, Florida where her personal life will interfere with her work
Weatherly spoke to People and said he knows Perrette’s career will thrive again after the Harmon drama that led to her departure.
He stated: “I know that Pauley Perrette will be back in some capacity. I’m just saying. And I think that she’s gonna be — I think everyone misses her already, and she’ll be back and funnier than ever. She’s a fierce lady and one of my favorite people on the planet.”
Fans of Abby Sciuto are hoping it will be sooner rather than later.
Perrette shared a series of tweets after her shocking exit saying: “I refused to go low, that’s why I’ve never told publicly what happened. But there are tabloid articles out there that are telling total lies about me. If you believe them? Please leave me alone. You clearly don’t know me. (Sorry guys, had to be said).”
She added: “There is a ‘machine’ keeping me silent and feeding FALSE stories about me. A very rich, very powerful publicity ‘machine.’ No morals, no obligation to truth, and I’m just left here, reading the lies, trying to protect my crew. Trying to remain calm. He did it.”
She went on to say: “I’ve been supporting anti-bullying programs forever. But now I KNOW because it was ME! If it’s school or work, that you’re required to go to? It’s horrifying. I left. Multiple Physical Assaults.”
Are you eager to see Perrette back on TV? What kind of roles do you envision for her?
