Outlander Star Sam Heughan Tours The US Amid Awards Buzz For His Work In Season 4

Outlander star Sam Heughan is currently in the United States, and he recently stopped in Memphis, Tennessee, so he could visit the home of the King, Elvis Presley. This past weekend, Heughan enjoyed a tour of Graceland, and he shared a pic on Instagram that had fans swooning.
In the pic, Heughan is standing in front of the famous mansion that sits on 13.8 acres, while wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, and in the caption, he called Graceland a “calm, deeply spiritual place.” The simple picture quickly got fans talking, with one saying it was “perfection at its finest,” and another added, “Hunka hunka burning love.”
Over the past four years, the sexy Scot has become a Hollywood star thanks to his role as Jamie Fraser in the Starz time travel series. But, when he landed the role, Heughan has admitted he had no idea that Diana Gabaldon’s popular fantasy books would lift him to A-list status.
Not only has Outlander made Heughan famous, but it has also increased tourism in Scotland because the series showcases the country’s beautiful scenery.
However, just because Outlander is popular with viewers, it doesn’t mean the show has caught the attention of Emmy voters. Neither Heughan nor his co-star Caitriona Balfe have scored an Emmy nomination during the show’s first three seasons, but many are hoping that voters will notice their outstanding work from Season 4 and show them some love this year.
The Best Drama Actor category is always competitive. Gold Derby points out that things are changing this time around because last year’s winner – The Americans star Matthew Rhys – will not be in contention, and both Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright from Westworld will be taking the year off.
This could give Heughan an opening for a nomination, but to get a spot on the list he will still have to compete against stars like Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Jason Bateman (Ozark), Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us).
No matter if he wins an Emmy or not, Sam Heughan will still have adoring fans all over the world, and that won’t change anytime soon since Starz has renewed Outlander for at least two more seasons.
Season 5 of Outlander will premiere on Starz later this year.
