It’s pretty clear that Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin) will be more involved in Outlander this season than ever before. While fans can’t wait to watch Brianna reunite with her father, what are the chances that Roger and Jamie (Sam Heughan) meet up as well?
We won’t know exactly how the show handles Brianna and Roger’s storyline until Outlander returns for Season 4, but there are clues in the book that point us in the right direction. In Diana Gabaldon’s Drums of Autumn, Roger and Brianna deal with a lot of drama as she heads back in time to meet up with her parents.
We know that the two will consummate their marriage at some point, but Brianna also experiences a traumatic event after being raped by the show’s new villain, Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speelers).
Jamie eventually finds out that his daughter was raped but doesn’t know who did it. After meeting Roger, he falsely accuses him of assaulting his daughter and promptly beats him to within an inch of his life before giving him to a local Indian tribe.
We don’t know if the show will change Roger and Jamie’s first encounter, but in the books, Jamie discovers he was wrong and gets Roger back.

As far as Brianna’s rape is concerned, there is no telling how it will play out on the show. While it is possible that the show writes the rape out, a new fan theory argues that Jamie will take Brianna’s place and get assaulted by Bonnet.
As fans will recall, Jamie was raped back in Season 1 by Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies), and producers have already teased that Bonnet is a lot worse than Randall. That doesn’t mean Jamie will get raped again, but it does open the door for Bonnet to do terrible things in Season 4.
Season 4 of Outlander begins Nov. 4 on Starz.
