It’s an exciting time if you are an Outlander fan. Not only did they get a sneak peek of Season 4 at New York Comic Con, but creator Diana Gabaldon recently hinted on Twitter that a new spin-off could be in the works.
Gabaldon recently revealed the news while she was answering questions from fans. When one of her followers asked about the possibility of a series following the character of John Grey — who is featured in both the books and TV series — she didn’t confirm a spin-off but implied it could be coming soon.
“Any chance of a John Grey spin-off?” asked the fan.
“Who knows? Interest has been expressed, is about all I could tell you,” wrote Gabaldon.
This is a terrific read – geeat Q&A. Outlander is in top 10 PBS books. Bet it makes the top 5! Think you know all about Herself’s writing? You might be surprised by her pithy answers. Do you ken that Claire and Jamie live pungent lives? ??? @Writer_DG https://t.co/YyaPGxGpZ8

Australian actor David Berry plays the John Grey character on the Starz series. The English soldier and love rival of Jamie is so popular with Outlander fans that he is also the main character in his own series of novels.
As for the upcoming season of Outlander, star Caitriona Balfe recently told Elle Magazine that we often think about the mystery of will they or won’t they when it comes to a TV series. But for Outlander, they are moving into an exciting time where there is no longer a “won’t they.” Fans can now settle in because of the element of stability.
“You have to get to a certain point in a relationship where there’s no cliffhangers anymore … You can disagree, you can have cycles where you’re not always perfectly in sync, but there’s no more cliffhangers with Jamie and Claire in terms of their love and devotion to each other. That’s important because otherwise, you start to manipulate an audience’s emotions too much,” said Balfe.
Now, viewers can focus on the struggles that Claire and Jamie are facing together, and it will still be interesting without the question of whether or not they will split.
While waiting for the new season, we have been following some Outlander stars on social media. John Bell, who plays the role of Young Ian Murray, recently posted a pic of himself with Rollo — his half-wolf canine companion on the show — and Rollo’s sibling. The photo showed that there is definitely a bond between the actor and dog off-screen as well as on.
And, Sam Heughan, who is the Global Brand Ambassador for clothing brand Barbour, has gotten involved in the design process for a new limited series collection. Heughan even showed off one of the new designs in a video the company posted on Twitter.
Season 4 of Outlander premieres November 4th on Starz.
