Oscar Nominations Will Stream Live January 22, 2019 — Tracee Ellis Ross and Kumail Nanjiani Will Announce

The 91st Oscar nominations will stream live on multiple platforms on January 22, 2019, and Tracee Ellis Ross and Kumail Nanjiani will make the announcements. As award season is underway, there is no question that the Academy Awards are the highlight of the events. The Golden Globes are typically viewed as a precursor to the actual nominees, but there are no guarantees. While A Star is BornBlack Panther , Bohemian Rhapsody , If Beale Street Could Talk , Green Book , and BlacKkKlansman have led the way, anything is possible once the Academy votes.

Lady Gaga is one of the top picks for the best actress nomination as she's earned acclaim for her role as Ally in Bradley Cooper's directorial debut A Star is Born . Other popular picks for best actress include Glenn Close, Nicole Kidman, Emily Blunt, and Rosemary Pike.

Rami Malek, Bradley Cooper, Willem Dafoe, and John David Washington are favorited by many to receive the best actor nomination.

Though there will be several ways to watch the Oscar nominations stream live on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, many will watch the broadcast on YouTube in the video player below.

The live stream and announcements will be broken down in two parts. The first part will include announcements for the following categories: actor in a supporting role, actress in a supporting role, sound editing, sound mixing, costume design, film editing, live action short film, animated short film, and original score. It will stream at 5:20 a.m PT/8:20 a.m. ET.

The second part of the 91st Oscar announcements will stream at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:20 a.m. ET. and will include the following categories: best picture, actor in a leading role, actress in a leading role, production design, animated film feature, original song, cinematography, original screenplay, adapted screenplay, directing, documentary short subject, documentary feature, visual effects, makeup and hairstyling, and foreign language film.

In addition to the live YouTube stream, the announcements will air on the Oscars.com and Oscars.org website, Twitter events and on Facebook.

After controversy ensued with the announcement Kevin Hart would host the Oscars, Hart decided to step down from the hosting position. At this point, no one has been named as Hart's replacement.
