The NYPD is closing it on Harvey Weinstein. During a press conference that was held on March 7, Robert Bryce, the NYPD’s Chief of Detectives stated that they had gathered enough critical evidence in the rape and sexual abuse case against the man.
‘We are still accumulating evidence, it’s going very very well,’ Boyce stated during a press conference.
‘We have a lot of information, we have people who are getting ready to go to grand jury,’ he continued.
When he was asked what’s the next step, Boyce said that this questions should be addressed to Manhattan District Attorney, Cyrus Vance: ‘It’s his case right now.’
A police official involved in the case reported for the The Daily Beast, ‘We’re ready to go with an arrest.’
Now it seems that the police department only needs approval from Vance to arrest the movie producer.
The district attorney’s office did not want to comment on the case.
Daily Beast reported that the NYPD is currently investigating an extreme claim that has been reported in the same media outlet.
The police also investigated Paz de la Huerta and Lucia Evans. The first one said that Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex when she was a college student, and the latter claimed that she was raped by the movie producer twice back in 2010.
