It’s rough enough dealing with a public breakup, but it must be even harder dealing with a public breakup with someone you were mere weeks away from marrying. Nikki Bella has made her first public appearance since announcing her split from John Cena.
Nikki and her twin sister, Brie Bella, visited the Nirvana Food and Wine’s Rosé Parté on April 21.
For the first time since her engagement to the WWE star, Nikki wasn’t wearing her 4.5 carat diamond ring.
The former couple explained last year the meaning of the sparkling jewel in a Youtube video.
“The ring represents our entire relationship up until this point. If you look at the stones on the side, there are four individual stones on each side. One side represents me and one side represents her and the four means the years we’ve been together to come to center point. The center point is a 4.5 carat round brilliant cut Tiffany diamond that represents the four and a half years we took to get right here. As with everything that we do for each other, there’s always meaning behind it,” the 40-year-old actor elaborated.
Both of the “Total Bella” stars posted cryptic messages on their social media since the news broke.
John posted a photo to Instagram that read: “It’s not what you go through that defines you; You can’t help that. It’s what you do after you’ve gone through it that really tests who you are.”
The wrestler also tweeted: “Sometimes we must bare the burden of shame and judgement to protect and give to the ones we love. #RISEABOVEHATE.”
Nikki, on the other hand, posted a photo of herself with a caption that said: “For whatever we lose (like a you or a me), It’s always our self we find in the sea.”
She also shared a quote with the words: “Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.”
