Nikki Bella is sick and tired of people giving credit to her ex, John Cena for her recognition in wrestling. She was apparently really affected when her future opponent in the ring, Ronda Rousey slammed her, saying she only made it big because of Cena.
The last thing Nikki wants is for her name to always share the same sentence as John Cena’s.
But despite the fact that she and John put an end to their relationship, breaking their engagement back in April, the opponent she is set to face on October 28 still associated her with him in a savage diss.
During a promo for the fight on an episode of Monday Night Raw, Ronda took the mic, completely discrediting Nikki’s hard work with her insulting words.
‘The only door you’ve ever knocked down was the one to John Cena’s bedroom. And he threw you out of that exact door eventually,’ Ronda said. Ouch!

In a new interview for New York Post, Nikki addresses the diss, saying ‘I’ve grown thick-skinned to it. I just cannot wait for the day it can stop and not every promo about me brings up my ex and I think it will. I think there will come a day for that, but maybe there will not, but I do hope so.’
Nikki has actually held the Divas champion title for 301 days, which more than anybody else in the history of WWE.
That being said, she really wants the wrestling community to stop ‘saying women slept their way to the top or [got there] because of a man that made a woman.’
‘We don’t want to be defined by our men or our relationships because almost every woman is in a relationship with another wrestler in our industry,’ she explained.
