In a sneak peek for Total Bellas’ Sunday episode, Nikki tells her family members about her shocking decision to break her engagement with John Cena just weeks before their wedding. As fans know already, before they put an end to their romance, the two dated for no less than six years!
In the preview, Nikki breaks down crying as she tells her twin sister Brie: ‘I feel like such a huge piece is just missing from me. It is just weird, first morning in six years to not talk to him, you know? … Our life’s one, that’s what is so hard.’
Despite the fact that Brie hasn’t always liked Cena, at this point, she also tears up as she has only good things to say about her sister’s ex.
Reports have been claiming that one of the biggest reason why they split was that John did not want to have kids.
‘I just don’t want him to be lonely, and I do not want him to regret not being a dad, and that is what’s sad because John feels like a brother, and I hate thinking in my head that he is going to be alone. It makes me so sad,’ Brie stated.
Nikki also shares what he told her about becoming a mother one day and it’s heartbreaking.
‘He sent me this text last night, and he goes, ‘The day you become a mom and look at your baby, I am expecting to get the first thank you text.’ But it’s like, I wanted him to be the father of my kids.’
But it sounds like in the meantime; being away from the love of his life has changed his mind about having children.
While on Today, earlier in the month, he candidly shared: ‘I’m willing to go back on all of these things I said, and a lot of things I was holding on to out of stubbornness – ‘I won’t have kids’ – and it took a really strong look in the mirror for me to be like, ‘Why?’ This person’s my number one, and it is something that is very valuable to her, and of course we can do this … all of that switched because I love her. She is my number one, and I just want to make her happy … and right now, she’s happy.’
