Niecy Nash Posts Untouched Swimsuit Photos And Apologizes To Her Body In Powerful Instagram Message
Niecy Nash has just apologized to her body in a powerful Instagram message. Her words are quickly gaining traction as a reminder to her fans to be kind to their bodies.
In an eye-opening Instagram message, The Claws star shared a series of photos of her standing in front of a mirror wearing a black swimsuit.
"I APOLOGIZE to myself!" I bought a new swimsuit and tried it on, then proceeded to Drag Myself- pointing out every 'flaw,' every bump, lump, scar, ripple & stretch mark," the actress began her powerful message.
Nash goes on to explain why she is apologizing to herself. She could hear one of her friends telling her to "watch what you say to your body," The actress also thought about another friend that is always celebrating her "chocolate thickness."
After realizing how other people treat their body's the When They See Us actress changed directions with her inner thoughts. Those thoughts and words have become a daily reminder.
"Then I changed my conversation with myself: These hips caught two husbands (and a few boo's), my thighs touch, but I gained weight having good food with great people. I see my c-section scar peeking out ( thank you @thekatvond for putting a tattoo over it) but it's a reminder that I brought 3 beautiful children into the world," I allowed my stretch marks to whisper ' you are a grown ass women who has survived a few thangs & STRETCHED in ways you never thought you could," she continued.
Nicey Nash ended her powerful message reminding people, especially women, to be kind to their bodies. Her words are also being praised as an affirmation everyone needs to read.
"My mom always said 'They don't teach 'Kind' in school, you gotta learn that on your own,'" she said. "Loving your body can be a rollercoaster ride ESPECIALLY WITHOUT A FILTER! but...With all that said I purpose [sic] to be kinder to myself today then I was yesterday.... tomorrow I 'ma try to keep the it going 'I love you Niecy' I'm my own #wcw," Nash stated
The Emmy nominee is speaking out on body positivity, as she begins to shift the conversation. She was able to change her inner dialogue by remaindering herself what other people would say. It is a concept Nash wants everyone to try.
