As far as MIT professor Neri Oxman is concerned, Brad Pitt has just too much drama and baggage in his life, and she didn’t want to deal with it. According to a new report, Pitt’s custody war with Angelina Jolie scared Oxman off and into the arms of a billionaire hedge-fund investor, but the World War Z star is begging her for another chance.
The sources are contradictory in this story. One says that Pitt isn’t giving up on Oxman, and he has constantly been calling her and trying to get her back. But another insider says that is not happening.
Pitt and Oxman were linked for months, but the brainy architect surprised the actor when she dumped him for Wall Street whiz Bill Ackman early last month. Within days of the split, the 42-year-old was in Paris cheering on Ackman while he played in a pro-am tennis tournament. After the match, cameras caught the two getting cozy.

Pitt originally met Oxman because of his fascination with architecture. After Hurricane Katrina, Pitt helped build homes for the poor in the devastated city of New Orleans.
The 54-year-old actor was reportedly “totally smitten” with Oxman, so to see her with Ackman was a shock for Pitt. After his split from Jolie, Pitt cleaned up his act by getting clean and sober. But the divorce and custody battle over their six children has been brutal, and some friends are afraid that his breakup with Oxman could cause him to relapse.
“Neri was spooked away from Brad because he had to take Angie to court just to get to see his kids this summer,” says an insider. “Dating Brad was creating enough stress and headlines, but once Angie made it clear the custody battle was going to become a circus, Neri was out!”
Pitt is apparently furious that Jolie’s antics have ruined his relationship with Neri Oxman. However, he is keeping his mouth shut about it — on the advice of his attorney — because he doesn’t want to hurt his chances in the custody fight.

This past week things have gotten even nastier between Pitt and Jolie, with the Oscar-winner’s attorney filing a motion requesting retroactive child support after claiming Pitt hasn’t honored their informal agreement. But, an inside source says that Pitt has paid millions to support his kids, which is far more than any judge would have ordered, or any agreement would stipulate.
The filing also requested a hearing to move forward with finalizing the divorce, and a spokesperson for Angelina Jolie says that it was intended to “provide closure to the marriage” so she and Brad Pitt can move on to the next stage of their lives.
