Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is reportedly not filming Season 12 with her co-stars, and instead, she is taking a page from Lisa Vanderpump’s book and focusing on her own Bravo spinoff. Rumor has it that the OG is leaving RHOA after 11 seasons and getting her own show that will be set in her new Swagg Boutique location.
As fans know, executive producer Andy Cohen revealed at the Season 11 reunion that a producer ended up in the hospital with a broken tooth thanks to Leakes and the infamous Closetgate scandal. The producer attempted to follow Porsha Williams and Kandi Burress into Leakes’ closet after she told them not to go in.
There has been a ton of drama between Leakes and her co-stars in recent months, and she has hinted on social media that she could be moving on from the show that made her famous. According to Screen Rant, Leakes is in pre-production for her new spinoff that will take place in her new Swagg Boutique in Maryland that she just opened in May.
Leakes already has one location open in Atlanta, plus her Swaggalicious location in Miami. Like Vanderpump Rules, the spinoff will reportedly focus on the staff, and Bravo cameras will be there to capture everything while they “work, party, and deal with drama.”
The rumors of Leakes’ departure from RHOA gained steam when her nemesis Kenya Moore rejoined the cast. However, neither Bravo nor Leakes has confirmed the spinoff rumor.
One of the RHOA cast members that Leakes is still on good terms with is Marlo Hampton. The Glee alum recently posted a photo of herself with Hampton in front of a green screen. Leakes unfollowed everyone in the RHOA cast except for Hampton and Shamari DeVoe after the Season 11 reunion taping, and she explained on Instagram Live that she has finally realized that “these girls are my co-workers” and not her friends. And, that means she doesn’t need to stay up-to-date on what’s going on in their lives.
“They all needed to say something … And they only way of thinking they can step up is to step to me … [to] make the executives pay them some attention,” said Leakes. “So a lot of the girls tried to secure the bag because their bags are just not quite secured. I don’t have to follow them on social media. It’s not that big of a deal to me. I don’t want to see their s—.”
New episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo later this year.
