The ladies of the Real Housewives of Atlanta have started filming Season 12, but so far NeNe Leakes hasn’t been involved because she has been negotiating a new contract. Leakes just confirmed she has finally signed on for the upcoming season, but insiders say she has a secret plan for filming with Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore.
According to Reality Tea, Leakes posted a pic of her newly-signed contract and added the caption, “Season 12 SIGNED! Nay Nay will see you in NYC Sunday. Let’s go. #RHOA #HBIC #OG #shegotit bag secured.” She also added two emojis – a bag of money and a peach.

Leakes wanted to make sure that her fans knew Bravo was paying her a lot of cash, that she was an OG, and that she was the “head b*** in charge,” but then she quickly deleted the post and it’s not clear why.
There was speculation that Leakes wasn’t returning for Season 12 because she was furious that Bravo re-hired Moore, not to mention her major falling out with Williams after last season’s Closetgate scandal. But, an insider says that Leakes’ plan all along was to make more money and to set up a confrontation with her two enemies.
“She wants to confront them on her own terms,” says an insider. “NeNe is going to decide when and where it will happen. She doesn’t and won’t talk to either of them unless a camera is rolling,”
The source added that Leakes understands that she is obligated to film with Moore and Williams, and she understands how high the stakes are. She made sure that it is all going to play out on her terms. Leakes has no problem filming with Eva Marcille, Tanya Sam, and Kandi Burruss, and she is planning to shoot some scenes during the second week of July says the source.
NeNe Leakes is reportedly making nearly $3 million this season, which makes her the highest paid Housewife in the entire franchise, and the source says this has infuriated her co-stars because she gets the most money but does the least amount of work.
New episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo later this year.
