According to a report from Page Six, Neil Patrick Harris had to get surgery on his hand this past Tuesday when a sea urchin spine got bundled up in his hand during his visit to Croatia two months ago. Neil came down with a bad infection.

On his IG account, Harris explained that he "pierced through a tendon," before going on to praise the doctors working on him, including Dr. Dan Polatsch and his team of medical professionals. The star joked he was "urchin free" and slowly getting better.

Reportedly, the 46-year-old actor was climbing cliffs when he fell directly on to a sea urchin, with his hand taking the brunt of the fall. Kate Jennings, who's perhaps most famous for her roles in Broadway productions, joked that Harris should've gone to "Urchin Care."

Fans of Neil Patrick Harris know that he has been one of the biggest names in television/film for the last few decades, including his rise to fame on Doogie Howser, M.D , which aired from 1989 until 1993. He later secured another role as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother.

In addition to starring in several productions, Harris has proved himself to be exceptionally talented in other areas of the world of entertainment, including as a host. Harris hosted the Oscars back in 2015.

On account of his long and illustrious career in television, the 45-year-old - claims a report from Celebrity Net Worth - has a whopping total of $40 million behind his name. Despite first coming to prominence in Doogie Howser, M.D , in recent years, Harris is most known for his role as the aforementioned Barney Stinson.
