Pauley Perrette – who played Abby Sciuto on NCIS for 15 seasons – said goodbye to the popular CBS drama this week in a heartbreaking episode, and a new report has surfaced claiming she left because of a feud with her co-star Mark Harmon. Did a blowout fight between the two force Perrette to leave the series?
According to Radar Online, back in October 2016 Harmon’s rescue dog Dave bit a crewmember on the NCIS set, and it left the victim with a gash that required 16 stitches.
“Mark was obviously horrified and made sure that Dave went through re-training and was frequently checked by his vet,” claims an insider. “Despite this, Mark made the decision to not bring Dave back to the set.”
However, last season Harmon had to bring Dave to work because he didn’t have a dog sitter to watch him during a 19-hour shoot. He took precautions to make sure the dog stayed confined to his Airstream for most of the day. And, everyone in the cast and crew was okay with the arrangements, except for Perrette.

Sources say the 49-year-old was “furious” that Harmon brought Dave back to the set and “refused to listen to him” when he attempted to explain the situation. Perrette allegedly lost it and started shouting at her co-star. She also said that Harmon should have never adopted a Pitbull in the first place.
Perrette didn’t feel safe on the set, and she didn’t want the dog around. She just didn’t think it was right for Harmon to put people in danger and expose them to a possible attack, and the actress complained to show bigwigs and to Harmon, who is also an executive producer.
From that point on, sources claim that she started to act like a diva and refused to shoot scenes with Harmon or sit on the same side of the table at table reads. And, when he tried to make amends, she completely ignored him.
“She refused to shoot scenes with Mark and she refused to sit on the same side of the table as him at table reads,” the insider alleged. “She even completely ignored him any time he tried to make amends.” https://t.co/eNOoKFOeiK

So, they set up her role where she wouldn’t have to film with Harmon, and she only films when he isn’t around.
Another factor in Perrette leaving was her heartbreak over the sudden passing of showrunner Gary Glasberg, who died in his sleep back in September 2016 at the age of 50.
Pauley Perrette announced last October on Twitter that she was leaving the show at the end of this season. At the time, she said she had made the decision a year earlier, but didn’t give a reason for her departure.
