Season 16 of NCIS premieres on CBS next month, and the cast has moved on from the behind-the-scenes Pauley Perrette drama now that the actress has left the show. Perrette had been part of the cast since the first season playing the role of Abby Sciuto, but she left after a feud with star and executive producer Mark Harmon. Now, they have replaced Perrette with Diona Reasonover, and everyone is getting along.
CBS promoted Reasonover to a full-time cast member in the role of forensic scientist Kasie Hines.
“So far the cast is loving working with Diona,” says an insider told Radar Online. “They seem to all get on really well with her. She is apparently a really hard worker who is passionate about the job. All good signs!”

The source says now that Perrette is gone, the cast and crew are “more relaxed,” and the set has a nice atmosphere since there is no bad blood between anyone and everyone “gets on with each other.”
The drama between Perrette and Harmon began in October 2016 when he brought his rescue dog to the set, and it ended up biting a crew member. As a result, the bite victim had to get 16 stitches, but after the incident, Harmon continued to bring the dog to the set.
Even though the cast and crew were okay with Harmon bringing the dog — which he named Dave — back to the set, Perrette was allegedly “furious” about it. And, when Harmon tried to explain the situation, she wouldn’t listen and completely ignored him when he tried to make amends.
When Harmon did bring Dave back to the set, his attorney Barry Axelrod says that he always had the dog on a leash or in his trailer, and he definitely took steps to make sure the dog wasn’t roaming freely and was always with him. But eventually, he stopped bringing him altogether.

But Perrette supposedly turned into a “diva,” and she refused to shoot scenes with Harmon, and wouldn’t even sit on the same side of the table during table reads. So, they put an arrangement in place to make sure the two actors never filmed in the same location. And, when they did appear together during Perrette’s final season, it was a result of the magic of editing. Insiders say that she would shoot her scenes on one day, and Mark Harmon would do his scenes on another.
In October 2017, Pauley Perrette announced that she was leaving the show via Twitter and wrote that she had made the decision to leave the year before. She added that she loved the character of Abby, and she hoped everyone would enjoy her final season.
Season 16 of NCIS premieres Monday, September 25th on CBS.
