Naya Rivera had a tumultuous week after the police arrested her for misdemeanor domestic battery when she assaulted her husband, Ryan Dorsey, in West Virginia on Saturday. According to a source as revealed by E! News, Rivera’s family, and friends are incredibly worried about her as well as her spouse.
A source said to the organization, “Naya’s parents and her friends are really worried about her. It’s not like her to get into this type of trouble.”
A spokesperson for Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, Brian Humphreys, said to E! News that a police officer responded to a call regarding domestic violence at a residence in Chesapeake, West Virginia.
When the authorities arrived, they spoke with Dorsey who said Rivera struck him in the head and his face. Just a few hours after the incident, her arraignment was caught on tape, and the entire world got a peek at the pair’s emotionally charged relationship.
A source added, “this isn’t the first time their relationship has been violent. The fact that Naya hit Ryan like that is very troubling to everyone.” Ryan tweeted a statement to his fans, “this is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and me.”
The actor and musician asked for everyone, including the media, to respect their privacy because it isn’t a “reality show,” it’s their life. Naya hasn’t commented on the matter yet, as she was probably advised by her legal counsel not to say anything.
An insider explained, “Ryan’s family is distraught because he’s involved with a woman who has a violent temper. Ryan’s mother never really liked her, even though she probably wouldn’t admit that publicly. Hopefully, they can figure things out soon because the media attention isn’t helping either.”
