The oldest daughter of the Bryant family, Natalia, 17, took to social media to pay tribute to her dad on what would’ve been his 42nd birthday. Her message was, naturally, heartbreaking, the teenager expressing just how much she misses him.
As you probably remember, back in January, Natalia lost her dad, Kobe Bryant, as well as her 13 year old sister, Gianna, in a tragic helicopter crash that also took other seven precious lives.
That being said, while normally, Kobe’s birthday would have been a wonderful opportunity for celebration, now it’s a painful reminder that he is no longer here to grow old alongside his loved ones.
In her post yesterday, Natalia wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Dad I miss your smile, laugh and big bear hugs. Happy Birthday to the best movie buddy I could have ever asked for. I will always remember our late night drives to the movie theater with the windows rolled down and listening to our favorite songs. I love you forever and always. Always, Slim.’
She also included a throwback picture of the two of them alongside that touching tribute.
The picture shows a really young Natalia, safe in her father’s arms.
She also had an Elmo painting on one of her cheeks and rocked a pink headband as well!
As for Kobe, he can be seen looking adoringly at the child, a huge smile on his face and one hand under her chin.
Natalia’s mom, Vanessa, also took to social media to pay tribute to her late husband of 19 years.
She wrote: ‘Happy Birthday. I love you and I miss you more than I can explain. I wish you and Gigi were here to celebrate YOU! I wish I could make your favorite food or a birthday cake with Gigi. I miss your big hugs, your kisses, your smile, your loud a** deep laugh.’
