Nancy Pelosi made it very clear that she is really grateful Donald Trump is no longer the President of the United States! During a press conference meant to discuss Trump's upcoming impeachment trial, Pelosi held nothing back when she thanked God the controversial former leader is finally 'gone' from the White House.

This marked her very first press conference after Joe Biden 's inauguration and the House Speaker could not help but express her relief over it.

At some point, during the chat about the upcoming impeachment trial, she exclaimed 'He’s gone. Thank God,' her hands meeting in prayer.

The press conference was called by Pelosi so that they could discuss the House’s Article of Impeachment against Trump on matters of 'incitement of insurrection.'

Obviously, this is about the former POTUS encouraging his supporters to riot at the Capitol building, actions which could have had immense consequences on the state of American democracy.

Trump would become the first US president to get convicted in a Senate impeachment trial, not to mention that this would be the second time during his term.

This is particularly 'impressive' considering there have been a total of only four impeachments in the history of the country!

In response to Republicans that suggested convicting Trump would undermine Biden's speech about 'unity,' Pelosi argued that 'The fact is POTUS committed an act of incitement of insurrection. I don’t think it’s very unifying to say, ‘let’s just forget it and move on.' That’s not how you unify… You don’t say to a president ‘Do whatever you want in the last months of your administration, you’re going to get a get-out-of-jail card free.''

At this point in time, however, the date of the trial is still up in the air.

While Pelosi declared that 'we are ready,' Donald Trump is the one delaying the process since he has no legal representatives after Rudy Giuliani refused to defend him.
