Mychael Knight, one of the finalists on the third season of Project Runway, died at the age of 39. In a report from the Jasmine Brand, the publication stated that the fashion designer passed away today, on Tuesday, October 16th.
Several of his co-stars on the series paid tribute to him in commemorative Twitter posts. You can see one of them below:

Not only did he appear on the show, but he also found himself on BET’s production, Rip The Runway, and designed a line of t-shirts for the coffee juggernaut, Starbucks.
His friend Madison also confirmed his death today. He is a worker in the fashion industry as well and is the editor and photographer for Obvious Magazine, which deals with fashion, culture, and lifestyle articles.
Knight’s cause of death is unknown at the moment, but in the past, he shared his struggles with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and he apparently suffered from chronic abdominal pain, extreme fatigue, and exhaustion.
Madison stated he was “innovative, unapologetic, kind, and giving,” as well as an “amazing man.” His two sisters and his parents survive him, and no details are known regarding his funeral arrangements at this time.
In case you haven’t seen it, Project Runway is a reality television show hosted by Heidi Klum and created by Eli Holzman where contestants battle it out against each other to create the best fashion possible with a limited amount of time and resources. As it was noted earlier, Knight was a top contender in the third season of the television show.
