It’s been over two years since Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert divorced after four years of marriage, but the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year is still reportedly reeling from the split. Even though the singer has moved on with Anderson East, the unexpected break-up with Shelton still haunts Lambert to this day, and it may be something that will scar her forever.
Per a source at Life & Style, it was the cold-blooded way that Shelton blindsided her with the divorce and then shoved his romance with Gwen Stefani in her face that burns her.
Lambert shared her pain and hurt from the split on her 2016 album The Weight of These Wings, which she said was her side of the story and her opinion about what happened. In her songs Keeper of the Flame, Ugly Lights, and Runnin’ Just in Case, Lambert makes it very clear that Shelton broke her heart.
Now, it seems she has written more songs about the split, revealing how Blake Shelton didn’t work on the marriage and how his move from Oklahoma to Los Angeles contributed to the end of their marriage.
The insider claims that Shelton and Lambert used to make fun of Hollywood posers, but now she believes it was all just a lie.
Stefani may not be safe either with Lambert’s new tunes. There could be lyrics about how Shelton traded her in for a different model.
This new “war” between Shelton and Lambert has included not just revenge songs, but disses in magazine interviews, and even a social media argument over Garth Brooks.
At the recent Country Music Association Awards, Entertainer of the Year Brooks lip-synced his performance, and everyone from fans to fellow musicians took sides on the issue. According to In Touch Weekly, one of the first social media shots fired was from East, who posted on Instagram that the country legend’s decision not to sing live offended him.
Rock & Roll Sundays and No Makeup Mondays. My favorite Bama boy turned 30 today. He owns the stage and he owns my heart. ?Thanks @andersoneast for inspiring me in so many ways. You are a light that could outshine the sun. I love making memories with you. #burnincandlesatbothends #30somethings ?: Tommy Barrett and #birthdayselfie And thank you to our friends @chrisstapleton @morganwithane @brent_cobb And @darienlake for making it such a special celebration #darienlakethemepark #rollercoasters&waterslides
Lambert quickly agreed, writing “High five on this babe.” She added that honesty is better than pretending and she thought the lip-syncing was bulls**t.
But, the 41-year-old Shelton wasn’t having it. The next day he tweeted that he loved Brooks, with the hashtags #hero and #respect.
It seems that Shelton and Miranda Lambert still haven’t put their issues behind them and no one is sure if they will ever bury the hatchet. The Hollywood Gossip reports that this is the only point of conflict in Shelton’s life, but it really isn’t clear how focused the two are on each other. They have both moved on and bashing each other isn’t a top priority.
