Mira Sorvino “Gagged” With A Condom By A Casting Director When She Was 16-Years-Old

Mira Sorvino is continuing to speak out against the mistreatment she endured while trying to become a successful actress. In a chat with the hosts of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s, HFPA Conversation podcast, the actress claimed a casting director “gagged her” with a condom when she was just 16-years-old.
The model stated that the casting director staged a horror scene where he tied her up, bruised her arm, and gagged her mouth with a condom while she auditioned for a part in a horror film.
The actress stated, “and then he gagged me, and I was all game because I’m trying to act” and “be scared” for the movie part which she desperately wanted.
According to Mira, although he didn’t make sexual advances toward her during or after the incident, she didn’t realize how inappropriate it was at the time because of her age.
Moreover, she rhetorically asked why a casting director had a condom in his pocket during an audition. Nonetheless, Mira’s first audition was an introduction to how Hollywood worked.
She also missed out on many roles in the scene due to refuting advances from directors and producers. One man, in particular, told her that his mind was “traveling from the artistic possibilities to the sexual,” and she looked at him in complete silence.
As it was previously reported, Mira was one of the first actresses to come forward regarding the egregious misconduct of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein, who is currently awaiting trial for one count of sexual assault and one count of rape.
After the cascade of allegations against him, Harvey released a statement indicating that all of his relationships were consensual. In the same month as her original accusation, Sorvino said to Time Magazine that she didn’t even realize how inappropriate it was at the time for Mr. Weinstein to use professional circumstances to try and seduce women.
