Michael Pena Will Star In The Upcoming “Dora The Explorer” Movie

Michael Pena is slated to join the cast of Paramount’s soon-to-be-released action movie adaption of the infamous Nickelodeon cartoon, Dora The Explorer. In the movie, Pena will be the father of Dora, portrayed by Isabela Moner.
Thus far, it’s been reported that Eva Longoria will be Dora’s mother alongside other Hispanic cast members like Eugenio Derbez and Adriana Barraza.
According to reports, the film will enter the production phase in Queensland, Australia, and will follow Dora as she enters high school for the first time after spending a majority of her life in the jungles.
The film will then go on to revolve on her adventure with her monkey, Boots, as they travel around discovering the mystery of a lost Incan civilization.
The studio recently published the first photo of Isabela as Dora which features her wearing the character’s pink shirt and orange shorts – the signature outfit we’ve all come to know and love.
Reportedly, Dora The Explorer will arrive in theaters on the 2nd of August, 2019 – directed by James Bodin. As fans of Pena know, he was last seen in the Marvel sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, as well as Extinction, and is also in the middle of Netflix’s fourth season of the critically acclaimed Narcos.
Michael has long been a mainstay in the Hollywood world in supporting roles. During a recent episode of The Fighter and The Kid Podcast with Bryan Callen and Brendan Shaub, The Goldbergs star, Callen, dished on the success of Michael.
His co-star, Shaub, stated that Mr. Pena has his “own thing going on” that appeals to audiences. Michael’s name came up when they discussed the difficulty that many actors face finding good roles in Hollywood, especially if they’re not quite up to snuff, with Michael being an exception to that of course.
