Michael Buble's Wife Says He Received Death Threats After Domestic Abuse Allegations
Michael Buble recently came under fire when a video of him elbowing his wife went viral. Luisana Lopilato is opening up on how the experience affected them.
Michael and Luisana frequently use Instagram Live to interact with fans during the national quarantine. In one livestream, Michael was trying to say a phrase in spanish when he was interrupted by Lopilato.
He told her to let him finish by nudging her with his elbow. Some people found the incident alarming and went back to other videos to try to find evidence that he is abusive. In one clip, Michael can be heard jokingly telling his wife that he was going to kill her.
This became a huge issue online with many people slamming the singer and telling the actress to leave him.
Luisana insisted that nothing was wrong. She recently revealed in an Argentinean radio interview that her husband received death threats.
'It made me afraid and I still feel a little bit frightened. It’s not nice to receive death threats. The positive messages we received outnumbered them but I am worried for my family. We received a lot of love from people but you wouldn’t believe the amount of people who sent me photos with weapons saying they were going to kill Mike when he reached Argentina.'
This comes a month after she was forced to release a public statement about what happened.
She told fans: 'Thank you for your concerns. It's really important that we're all mindful of the things that we brought up, which I don't suffer from. But, we should be vigilant to help women who are having a difficult time. I was very happy to see how my fans rallied. I'm proud to be Argentinian. Your messages show me once again all the love that you have for me and for us. With that, thank you but that's not my case.'
The actress is heartbroken because her husband loves to go to Argentina.
