It’s the Met Gala or is it the Met Gaga? That’s the question everyone is asking after Lady Gaga walked the red carpet and slayed with not one dazzling outfit but four! The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event attended by select celebrities to help raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute located in New York. Each year’s event has a theme and for 2019 it is “Camp: Notes on Fashion.”
Lady Gaga embraced the theme perfectly and left photographers, attendees and the public speechless as she did a striptease ascending and descending the red carpet commanding all attention and eyes on her art.
Lady Gaga co-hosts this years event with Serena Williams and Harry Styles.
The 2018 theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination” and there were some controversial looks, especially within the Catholic Church.
This year’s theme focuses on Camp fashion so it is likely that there might not be as many controversial looks but more outrageous and over-the-top designs instead.
No stranger to baring it all, Lady Gaga arrived on the red carpet surrounded by a team of umbrella-carrying men and assistants making sure her hair and makeup were perfect as well as her outfit.
Beginning with an over-sized, hot pink wrap, it appeared that Lady Gaga had made her statement, but it wasn’t to be so. After making her way up the stairs, she stopped and then her assistants helped her undress to reveal a black dress.
After posing for photos in the black dress, they helped her remove more clothing to unveil a simple, hot-pink straight dress with thin spaghetti straps that had an eighties vibe.
While the audience was spellbound and it seemed Lady Gaga had bared it all, she shocked the crowd once more by taking off the dress and posing in her lingerie.
