This year has definitely been a good year for body positivity, ever since it started with the first plus-size model ever to appear on the cover of the Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated. While Ashley Graham is indeed one of the leaders of this movement, Melissa McCarthy seems to be doing her part of the job quite well too.
A new poll made on 2,000 women across the country revealed that she is the most influential of all the celebrities that encourage women to be more body positive. As such, public opinions considers the comedian, actress and fashion designer to be the most influential celebrity and the one who does the most in order to represent people that don’t necessarily fit into the society standards.

The poll was made by Gwynnie Bee, which is a subscription service that lets you use plus-size clothing items. However, Melissa was not the only star mentioned there, but she was joined in by the TV star Oprah Winfrey and singer Adele in the top three of the poll.
As it seems, Americans also consider an important influence when it comes to body positivity Amy Schumer, the famous comedia, Jennifer Lawrence, who won an Oscar for acting and Serena Williams, the legendary tennis player. All of them have proven in the past that they are some vocal advocates of this cause.
Adele, one of the best selling artists in the world, was also voted by women to be the top celebrity that defines body and beauty sterotypes. She was again accompanied by Melissa McCarthy and Kelly Clarkson in top three. When it comes to fashion though, Ashley Graham and Tess Holiday seem to be the most important personalities, while Mindy Kaling occupied this position on TV celebrities. All in all, it is extremely pleasant and surprising to see that society is evolving in this direction.
