First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump welcomed Christmas to the White House with the arrival of the national Christmas Tree. Last Christmas, the Trumps restored the phrase "Merry Christmas" to the White House and Melania Trump dazzled many nationwide with her "Time-Honored Traditions" Christmas theme .

On November 19, 2018, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump descended upon the White House's North Portico where Mr. Larry Smith (who won the National Christmas Tree contest) presented the tree to the Trumps. Barron Trump was not in attendance nor was the other Trump children.

The White House Christmas tree came from the Smith Family & the National Christmas Tree Association.

The Fraser Fir was selected from countless trees in North Carolina and it marked the first time the Smith Family & the National Christmas Tree Association was selected by the White House for the National Tree. The 2001 Vice President did, however; select one of their trees in his personal home.

You may watch the video where the Christmas tree was presented to President Trump and Melania in the video player below.

The White House Christmas tree must stand between 18 and 19 feet tall and is placed in the White House's Blue Room where each year the grandiose chandelier is removed so the top of tree and topper can reach the ceiling.

While Thanksgiving week is underway and the White House has many turkey-related events and functions that honor our nation's veterans, many are excited for the Christmas celebrations that are quickly approaching.

Melania Trump released a statement via her official Twitter account regarding the Christmas tree delivery.

"The @WhiteHouse is getting ready for the Christmas season! Thank you to the Smith Family & the National Christmas Tree Association for providing this year's tree. And to our @NatlParkService for their hard work in trimming the tree for the Blue Room."

Are you going to visit the White House  (also known as the People's House) this holiday season and see the Christmas tree and decorations in person this year?
