It seems like the First Lady just cannot get over the way her husband handled John McCain’s passing. Melania reportedly believes Donald Trump’s reaction to the late Senator was ‘petty and insecure.’
HollywoodLife reports via a source that Melania thinks he ‘should have swallowed his pride’ and given a ‘more gracious’ statement.
As you probably know by now, earlier this week, McCain lost the fight with brain cancer, and ever since, the President has barely said anything about the tragedy.
It is a well-known fact that Trump and the late Arizona senator were not on the same wavelength often, but his pettiness in the face of death is ‘appalling’ to his wife.
All the Donald did was tweet about it and then issue a slightly lengthier statement through the White House press secretary.
Not only that, but he has also completely ignored McCain’s heroic military service.
‘Donald’s pettiness and ability to hold a grudge are probably the characteristics Melania dislikes the most about him. Donald thinks that it makes him seem strong when he never wavers and holds firm in his opinion, but she believes the exact opposite and thinks that the way he handled the John McCain situation is the perfect example,’ the insider tells the outlet.
Apparently, ‘Melania thinks Donald should have swallowed his pride and acted in a much more gracious manner following John’s death, but that’s just not something Donald will ever do. It is funny because what he perceives as being strong, she views as being petty and insecure.’
‘Melania believes Donald would be perceived in a much better light if he was willing to admit to his mistakes occasionally. She thinks he handled the McCain situation appallingly, and his reaction showed him to be petty and insecure.’
