Earlier today, less than a week after she was fired from her Today segment, Megyn Kelly opened up about the aftermath of her black face scandal. Here’s what she had to say!
As you know, Kelly has been keeping a low profile ever since the drama exploded and therefore, she didn’t open up about the firing before today.
But seeing how paparazzi were not giving up on making her speak and had even gathered outside her house every day, catching her and her family on camera, she decided to break her silence on social media!
Megyn tweeted: ‘For a week paparazzi has been lurking outside my home day and night. Finally today I took my children to school. I went out alone 1st, offered them donuts and begged them to just take their pic of me and to leave my kids alone when they emerged. All were nice. Except for the Dailymail…’
She went on to explain that ‘The DailyMail 1st published photos of my husb IN OUR HOME and then *did* photog my kids, trailed us to my daughter’s school, and secretly videotaped my 7-yr-old child (her classmates too) and posted it. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.’
As you may be aware by now, Megyn Kelly came under fire after a panel during which she argued that it should be Okay for people to wear blackface if it’s respectful and for a Halloween costume.
‘But what is racist? Because…you get in trouble if you are a white person who puts blackface on during Halloween, or a black person who puts whiteface on. Back when I was a kid, that was OK as long as you were dressing up as a character,’ she argued.
After the scandal exploded, Kelly did apologize saying: ‘I realize now such behavior is indeed wrong, and I’m sorry. The history of blackface in our culture’s abhorrent; the wounds too deep.’
Still, on Friday, it was confirmed by NBC News that Megyn Kelly had been fired for her controversial comments.
