Megyn Kelly Slams Donald Trump, Remains Undecided About Future At Fox News

In a new interview with the Washington Post, Megyn Kelly said that while she has received a very generous offer to remain at FOX News she is still looking at the many compelling propositions made by other networks. The mother of three also took the opportunity to answer the deluge of insults she received for covering the National Republican Convention in a little black spaghetti dress that showed off too much skin. Kelly said that over the summer she talked to her new boss, Lachlan Murdoch, who made a very generous offer.
Rumors claimed that she was offered a 20 million dollar contract and she did not accept or decline it. Instead, she asked for some time to think about it.
She also said that she would receive an excellent package if she does decide to leave. Asked which networks are wooing her, she remained mysterious and stated that some great people had contacted her. According to reports, CNN has offered Kelly more than her current salary, ABC and NBC are said to be moving mountains to get Kelly, but are not able to match FOX’s proposition.
Kelly said it has nothing to do with money, at this point in her career she needs freedom to do what she wants and be able to work from home so she can spend more time with her children. She explained: “Oh, my next deal is all about greater balance. I mean, that’s – I had professional success, right? Thankfully. And I feel like I’m at a level in my business where I’ve established myself as a professional. And the one thing I haven’t managed to do is find a way to achieve a better balance.”
At some point, the conversation turned to Trump with the reporter asking her a very unpleasant question. Trump, who had many public feuds with Kelly during the election season, claimed that he is the one who made her into a superstar reporter. Not thrilled by the question, Kelly said that she did not inherit millions from her father and that she had to work hard to get everything she now owns. She took a shot Trump by saying: “I did not get a million-dollar or multimillion-dollar loan from my dad. I did not grow up with silver spoon in my mouth. In fact, I lost my dad at a young age and had to put myself through school. I didn’t have a lot of the advantages Donald Trump had but I had the most important ones you can get, which are loving parents who cared about me and helped me develop a sense of self.” She added: “But it certainly wasn’t Donald Trump’s doing.”
Asked about the controversial dress she wore during the convention, she hit back by saying that a woman can look good and be smart at the same time. She said: “It was a lovely dress. A convention is a kind of free-form extravaganza, and there are certain settings where you can take risks. So I just thought: “Yes, I can do this. I can be smart and challenging while I wear spaghetti straps, and everyone is just going to have to get their heads around that.”‘
She has since worn the dress a second time on her TV show.
